2009 Festival: National Portrait Gallery evening talk – Making time

Who is responsible for keeping time? Why do we shift time by changing our clocks twice a year? What is the story behind the speaking clock? Why was time sold in London? Don’t be late for this talk…

Friday 24th April 2009

David Rooney, Curator of Timekeeping at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, explores the characters and personalities behind the story of time. David also discusses how by making time, changing pace and slowing down, you have more time. Free on a first come, first served basis. (NB: places are limited to 150) For more information please visit www.npg.org.uk

Enjoy live jazz from Round Trip at 18:30 before the talk. And if you’ve got time, chill out with cocktails in the National Portrait Gallery’s rooftop bar afterwards.
