2009 Festival: Qi Gong Workshop

Much of Qi Gong involves moving and breathing slowly with awareness.  It helps the body feel harmonious, soft, open and flowing, and, with training, to access that sensation whatever the circumstances:  ideal for our speedy, stressed lives. The paradox is that when we slow down and relax we are often more efficient, creative and productive than when we are rushing and tense.  The blood and other fluids circulate more effectively and smoothly helping our brain and our body to function well.

Some might talk about things like Qi, our body energy, energy from the earth or from above but there is no need to understand or accept any of this.  Qi Gong is about feeling and experiencing.  You can approach this beautiful, healing exercise/artform/movement/meditation at whatever level you feel comfortable… and just enjoy.  This is suitable for people of any age and physical ability.  Qi Gong is adaptable to most people’s needs.

Francesca Jaggs has been practicing Qi Gong and Tai Chi since 1989 when she commenced her Shiatsu training. Francesca has studied with different teachers in UK, China (in a hospital in Beijing), Japan and Hong Kong. In her classes at Bodywise, Francesca runs regular Saturday workshops at Bodywise Yoga and the Natural health Centre in Bethnal Green.
