2009 Festival: Sustrans Fresh Air Miles / bike ride

Sustrans Fresh Air Miles rides, organized by Sustrans Volunteers across the UK, are sponsored rides aimed at encouraging people to get out on their bike, whilst also promoting the work of Sustrans and local cycle routes.

An organised ride will be taking place on 4th May 2009 between Gatwick and Greenwich, divided into 4 stages. The final stage in south London will be approximately 9 miles along National Cycle Route 21: ‘flat-ish urban’ and 40:60 on road:off road. (more…)

Join poet and educator Jasmine Ann Cooray on a site-specific creative writing adventure (Monday 4th May 2009).

You will be escorted around different locations within the capital, observing, approaching and sketching members of the public, collecting characters for use in monologue or dialogue exercises. Suitable for any level of experience with writing. Take this opportunity to observe your fellow urbanites more closely, make new connections, and open out your mind to what the city can bring you. 2009 Festival: Slow Food Market

Slow Food Market (day) by Belinda Lawley From 1-4 May 2009, Southbank Centre Square outside the Royal Festival Hall will be home to the UK’s largest – and London’s only – monthly Slow Food Market. Over 40 stalls selected by Slow Food London will sell sustainable and traditionally prepared foods from a selection of leading artisan food producers, from the UK and beyond. (more…)
