This week I’ve been forced to slow down. I thought I was doing well in the run up to Christmas – pacing myself with a mix of social activities, work and studies – and getting ready for a long holiday from New Year. Then bang. I had fever, a sore throat and ached everywhere. I attempted to keep going but soon I was unable to move or act. (more…)

Panel members Silke Ackermann (cultural historian at the British Museum), Brian Durrans (cultural anthropologist) and Peter Shepherd-Skaerved, (musician) discuss concepts of time, pace and the corresponding pressures from a cultural and historical perspective.
A one-day theatre workshop exploring themes of speed, communication and ‘slowing down’ in our daily lives and our relationships with others. Open to adults and young people over 12, the workshop will be led by dramatist and teacher Michael Benenson. Performance at 17:30 25th April 2009, open to all. (more…)
